Moana Jr. Broadway Stars Grades: 3rd-5th Wednesdays: 4:15-6:15 p.m. Dates: 1/8-3/19 Venue: Athenaeum Center, Lakeview Address: 2936 N Southport Chicago, IL 60657 Performance: Wednesday 3/19 @ Athenaeum Center In Moana Jr., the spirit of adventure takes centerstage. Moana and her friends, the sweet Pua and hilarious Hei Hei, must set sail across the Ocean to save their island home of Motunui. Throughout her journey, she carries forth the legacy of her parents, Sina and Tui, and her beloved Gramma Tala, while wondering just “How Far I’ll Go.” She teams up with the legendary and egotistical demigod Maui (“You’re Welcome,”) to escape the “Shiny” clutches of the terrifying Tamatoa. But only the guidance of the Ocean, and the discovery of her own unknown strength, can help Moana defeat the fiery Te Ka and restore the heart of Te Fiti, to save her home –and humanity. Skyline's Broadway Stars is a no-cut program designed for actors in 3rd-5th grade that offers the opportunity to sing, dance, act, and embark on an unforgettable journey to bring the magic of Moana Jr. to life onstage. Guided by a professional teaching artist, Stars are challenged by singing solos, developing characters, and learning fundamental musical theatre choreography in spectacular musical numbers such as “How Far I'll Go,” “You're Welcome,” and “Shiny.” From the moment auditions kick off on the first day, Stars feel the excitement of lighting up the stage as they showcase their talents. In addition to creating a full musical ensemble, every actor who participates is assigned a named role. Moana Jr. offers a perfect balance of dramatic, comedic, and enchanting roles where every actor can shine. Actors are given scripts, music, choreography videos, and access to more helpful materials on Skyline’s exclusive Actor Resource Page. Families receive detailed instructions on how to assemble an original costume, adding the perfect finishing touch to Moana Jr. The stage is set, and the spotlight awaits. Join Skyline’s Broadway Stars to discover the magic of theater.
