Broadway Performers Ages 10-14 (Ages 8+ with Audition & Approval) Matilda $1995 Four Weeks: 7/17-8/11 9:00am-4:00pm Greenhouse Theater Center, Lincoln Park 2257 N Lincoln Ave. Chicago, IL 60614 Skyline’s Broadway Performers Summer Camp for ages 10-14 at the Greenhouse Theater Center in Lincoln Park provides young actors with a professional musical theatre experience. From an exciting first day of getting to know a show, to an exhilarating final performance, an experienced Skyline teaching artist will guide actors in putting together a fully-staged musical. Every child will be assigned a named role and have a chance to shine in Matilda as they learn lyrics and dances to their favorite songs like “Naughty,” “When I Grow Up,” and “Revolting Children.” Days will be packed as actors hone their vocal, dance, and acting technique, master challenging scenes and musical numbers, design a set and props, enjoy outdoor lunch and recess at the famous Oz Park, and have fun with friends! After four weeks of rehearsal and preparation, Broadway Performers will present a dress rehearsal for other Broadway campers and then a final performance for friends and family on the last day of camp! FAQ: My child is young but an extremely experienced performer. Can they be considered for a more advanced Broadway Camp? Children ages 7-9 may submit a video audition for Broadway Performers' four-week Matilda productions if they have previous experience in singing, acting, and dancing and are ready for challenging material. All children are welcome at Skyline and have a place in our program; we will direct you to a less intensive Broadway Camp option if we believe the advanced Broadway Performers camp materials could be overwhelming for your actor.
