Wilmette Broadway Stars (Grades 2nd-8th) Tuesdays | 5-7PM at Kenilworth Assembly Hall September 3-November 19 | No class 11/5, 11/26 Final Performance: Tuesday 12/3 OR Thursday 12/5 (You will be made aware of your actor's show date and time prior to class #1) We are thrilled to announce that our 20th Anniversary title at Skyline Children's Theater is The Wizard of Oz! After the COVID-19 Pandemic shut down our Spring 2020 season, this classic title only touched the Zoom screen. It felt too fitting to give it a second chance for such a special season in Skyline history. Skyline's Broadway Stars is a no-cut program designed for actors age 7-12. Sing, dance, act, and embark on an unforgettable journey to bring the magic of a popular musical to life onstage. Guided by a professional teaching artist, Stars level up by singing solos, developing character, and learning fundamental musical theatre choreography. From the moment auditions kick off on the first day, Stars feel the rush of anticipation as they showcase their talents. Every actor who participates is assigned a named role, and receives a script and rehearsal materials. Families will receive detailed instructions on how to assemble an original costume, adding the perfect finishing touch to the show. The spotlight awaits! When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and en route they meet a Scarecrow that needs a brain, a Tin Man missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who wants courage. Follow the Yellow Brick Road and join Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion on their journey to defeat the Wicked Witch of the West. There's no place like home! The Wizard of Oz is a timeless classic starring Dorothy and Toto, a girl and her dog, who suddenly find themselves far from home–somewhere over the rainbow. They awake in a land full of munchkins, flying monkeys, ruby slippers, a yellow brick road, a good witch, a wicked witch, and a mysterious wizard. Though missing Aunt Em and Uncle Henry back in Kansas, Dorothy and Toto make new friends-- a Scarecrow seeking a brain, a Tinman seeking a heart, and a cowardly Lion seeking courage-- who help Dorothy discover the power she has had inside her all along and remember "there's no place like home." Celebrate the 20th Anniversary season at Skyline Children's Theater with America's greatest fairytale-The Wizard of Oz!
