Shrek the Musical Broadway Stars Ages: 9-13 Monday-Friday: 9:00-4:00 p.m. *Two Week Session: 6/24-7/3 *Performance: Wednesday Afternoon 7/3 *No Class: Thursday 7/4 & Friday 7/5 Venue: Greenhouse Theater Center, Lincoln Park Address: 2257 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60614 *Please note this is a shortened session and this camp will perform on Wednesday 7/3. We hope our actors and families will enjoy the long holiday weekend!* From an exciting first day of getting to know a show to an exhilarating final performance, Shrek the Musical Broadway Summer Camp offers enchanting character opportunities where every actor can shine. All actors are assigned a named individual role in the show and together create a full musical ensemble for spectacular musical numbers such as “Welcome to Duloc,” “Morning Person,” and “This is Our Story.” Over the course of two weeks, Broadway Stars will build confidence and develop performance skills as they are challenged and motivated to work together with their castmates to create a polished and professional final show. Days will be packed with developing characters, rehearsing musical numbers, staging intricate scenes, becoming backstage leaders, making show backdrops, and visiting the famous Oz park for outdoor lunch and recess. Instructions on how to assemble an original costume will be provided to families in advance of the thrilling final performance, with professional lights and sound, on the final date of this camp. Every actor will feel pride in their hard work coming together and the glow of lighting up the stage as they present a dress rehearsal for other Broadway campers and then perform for friends and family.
